Joshua 1: 9
9 Have not I commanded thee? Be strong and of a good courage; be not
afraid, neither be thou dismayed: for the Lord thy God is with thee
whithersoever thou goest.
1 The LORD is my shepherd, I lack nothing. 2 He makes me lie down in
green pastures, he leads me beside quiet waters, 3 he refreshes my soul.
He guides me along the right paths for his name’s sake. 4 Even though I
walk through the darkest valley, I will fear no evil, for you are with
me; your rod and your staff, they comfort me. 5 You prepare a table
before me in the presence of my enemies. You anoint my head with oil; my
cup overflows. 6 Surely your goodness and love will follow me all the
days of my life, and I will dwell in the house of the LORD forever.
Psalm 51: 10

1 The sayings of King Lemuel—an oracle his mother taught him: 2 “O my
son, O son of my womb, O son of my vows, 3 do not spend your strength on
women, your vigor on those who ruin kings. 4 “It is not for kings, O
Lemuel— not for kings to drink wine, not for rulers to crave beer, lest
they drink and forget what the law decrees, and deprive all the
oppressed of their rights. 6 Give beer to those who are perishing, wine
to those who are in anguish; 7 let them drink and forget their poverty
and remember their misery no more. 8 “Speak up for those who cannot
speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are destitute. 9 Speak
up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.” 10 A wife
of noble character who can find? She is worth far more than rubies. 11
Her husband has full confidence in her and lacks nothing of value. 12
She brings him good, not harm, all the days of her life. 13 She selects
wool and flax and works with eager hands. 14 She is like the merchant
ships, bringing her food from afar. 15 She gets up while it is still
dark; she provides food for her family and portions for her servant
girls. 16 She considers a field and buys it; out of her earnings she
plants a vineyard. 17 She sets about her work vigorously; her arms are
strong for her tasks. 18 She sees that her trading is profitable, and
her lamp does not go out at night. 19 In her hand she holds the distaff
and grasps the spindle with her fingers. 20 She opens her arms to the
poor and extends her hands to the needy. 21 When it snows, she has no
fear for her household; for all of them are clothed in scarlet. 22 She
makes coverings for her bed; she is clothed in fine linen and purple. 23
Her husband is respected at the city gate, where he takes his seat
among the elders of the land. 24 She makes linen garments and sells
them, and supplies the merchants with sashes. 25 She is clothed with
strength and dignity; she can laugh at the days to come. 26 She speaks
with wisdom, and faithful instruction is on her tongue. 27 She watches
over the affairs of her household and does not eat the bread of
idleness. 28 Her children arise and call her blessed; her husband also,
and he praises her: 29 “Many women do noble things, but you surpass them
all.” 30 Charm is deceptive, and beauty is fleeting; but a woman who
fears the LORD is to be praised. 31 Give her the reward she has earned,
and let her works bring her praise at the city gate.

3 I am my beloved’s and my beloved is mine; he browses among the lilies.
Isaiah 40: 31
31 but those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will

Jeremiah 29: 11
11 For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to
prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.
8 He has shown you, O mortal, what is good. And what does the LORD
require of you? To act justly and to love mercy and to walk humbly with

13 Greater love has no one than this: to lay down one’s life for one’s friends.
1 Corinthians 13: 4-8
4 Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it
is not proud. 5 It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it
is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. 6 Love does not
delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. 7 It always protects,
always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. 8 Love never fails. But
where there are prophecies, they will cease; where there are tongues,
they will be stilled; where there is knowledge, it will pass away.
1 Corinthians 13: 13
13 And now these three remain: faith, hope and love. But the greatest of these is love.
2 Corinthians 5: 7

Galatians 2: 20
20 I have been crucified with Christ and I no longer live, but Christ

Ephesians 2: 8-9
8 For it is by grace you have been saved, through faith—and this is not

Ephesians 6: 10-18
10 Finally, my brethren, be strong in the Lord, and in the power of his
might. 11 Put on the whole armour of God, that ye may be able to stand
against the wiles of the devil. 12 For we wrestle not against flesh and
blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of
the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high
places. 13 Wherefore take unto you the whole armour of God, that ye may
be able to withstand in the evil day, and having done all, to stand. 14
Stand therefore, having your loins girt about with truth, and having on
the breastplate of righteousness; 15 And your feet shod with the
preparation of the gospel of peace; 16 Above all, taking the shield of
faith, wherewith ye shall be able to quench all the fiery darts of the
wicked. 17 And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the
Spirit, which is the word of God: 18 Praying always with all prayer and
supplication in the Spirit, and watching thereunto with all perseverance
and supplication for all saints;
